Perfume Atomizers

Wednesday 9 March 2016

Like most girls I love my perfumes and I also like to top it up during the day when it is needed or I just feel like a bit of a spritz. When I first found perfume atomizers I was so happy as I have always lugged my perfume bottle around in my bag in the past and either the lid would come off and I would end up wasting it or something on the pretty bottle would break, plus the added weight of the bottle as we all know they can be pretty heavy and add unnecessary weight to our bags specially with all those lipsticks and glosses rolling around in the bottom of our bags. I have tried a few different atomizers over the past few years and want to share the pros and cons of the different styles I have used...

The first four atomizers are all filled up by pumping them on top of your perfume bottle and the last one comes with a little funnel that you spray your perfume into to transfer it into the bottle. The pumping action is by far my favourite method of transferring the perfume as it is just a lot easier and quicker. The last perfume atomizer is a Manicure one from Priceline and why I love the look of the bottle and it is very sturdy and I have not experienced any leaks it is my least favourite just for the fact that spraying your perfume into a funnel takes a lot of time and gets a bit messy.

The three in the middle are all the same design the difference being the pink one is from Travalo and the other two are no names I picked up off of eBay for a couple of dollars. I like the design of these atomisers as they are pretty, come in a range of colours and use the pump action. But What I find with these types are they are prone to leakage, and I really hate having my perfume leak into my makeup bag or handbag. The bottom of them where you pump your perfume into is not sealed at all and this is where the leakages happen.

The first atomiser in the photo is from Sen7* which I was gifted, now I always mention at the bottom of my posts when I am gifted a product for consideration and I will always give my honest opinion I am just mentioning this as this one is my favourite atomizer out of all the above ones. The reason is because it feels more luxurious then all the others it has a little bit of weight to it comes in a beautiful colour selection and it is just so much more functional. It is another pump action one but it has a more of a no leak feature which I love, you need to pull off the casing at the bottom and loosen the bottom plug and then tighten it up after you have filled so there is no leaking!

Do you have a favourite type of perfume atomizer?

* Products were gifted to me for consideration, all opinions are my own and I will always give my honest opinion.

  1. I've never heard of a perfume atomizer, what a genius idea! I usually keep perfume samples or roller ball perfumes in my bag, but they aren't my favorite scents. I'll have to pick one up!

    1. They are such a great idea whoever invented them! I was the same but it is sometimes hard to find your favourite perfume in a mini or roller ball.

  4. I think I have that same manicare one from Priceline, I bought it a while ago but never really got around to using it. I love the idea of taking my favourite perfume/s with me on the go, but honestly I just always forget about things like this. I'm usually that annoying person that asks to borrow perfume.

  5. I bought some plain thin glass bottles from ebay with atomiser tops and little plastic funnels to decant some of my perfumes into travel sizes because it's super affordable. Unfortunately some of them have leaked a little which is really annoying, and filling them up is a bit messy too but you can't beat the convenience of having perfume with you in your handbag.

    1. Oh no I hate when they leak or go everywhere while you are trying to fill them up. It is such a waste of perfume and money specially if you paid a bit for your scent. You should try one of the Sen7 ones as they are super easy to use and I have had no issues with it :)

  13. I've never actually heard of these before, but what a fab idea! I never bring my perfume with me anywhere for all the reasons you listed out, but it's annoying I can't top it up throughout the day. Definitely going to have a get a couple of these.

  17. Oooh your blog is so pretty! I like to buy rollerballs or smaller sized perfumes so I can experiment with different scents. But atomizers would be so convenient for travel.

Would love if you check out my blog! Just followed you on twitter and instagram :)

    1. Thank you so much Hun, I do the same thing when I can find them but with some of my fave scents I can never find mini's or roller balls so that is when these come in handy.

  18. I've never tried an atomiser but I definitely need to look into getting one, so handy when travelling. I always take little perfume samples with me instead of a full bottle, so it'd mean I would still get to take my favourite perfume with me in the atomiser instead of leaving it home! Will have to keep in mind your post :) xx
