L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation

Thursday 28 April 2016

I finally picked up the L'Oreal cushion foundation after tossing up if I really needed it just because it looked pretty and different and obviously came to the conclusion that I did! So I have been trialing this foundation for about two weeks on my oil slick of a face and am now here to give you all a little review of how it stood up...

So I will start with the packaging as that is really what drew me to purchase and trial this foundation. The cushion factor was pretty unique to me and I have seen some other brands with the same concept and really wanted to see what the fuss was all about. The little compact is pretty sturdy and very travel friendly, the foundation sits in the bottom of the compact soaked into a sponge that you apply using the provided sponge/pad or you can do what I did and use a beauty blender/ RT sponge.

The application is very easy and as I mentioned above I used a RT sponge to apply, I just dabbed the sponge on top of the foundation sponge and applied like normal. It applied beautifully with great buildable coverage and has a very dewy finish. I trialed this foundation with a primer underneath and without and for me and my oily skin the primer underneath worked best and helped prolong the wear. I did also set this foundation with powder after application as I was just a tad to dewy for my liking. After all day wear unfortunately this foundation started to slide of my face around my nose and chin area and became patchy looking.

Overall I believe I will still get some use out of it if I am only looking to wear my makeup for a couple of hours as it looked great on but the staying power of it on my skin was a let down. If you have more of combo to dry skin this foundation would probably wear beautifully on you and last a lot longer then it did for me. But for me it is unfortunately a foundation that I will not be repurchasing unless they come out with a more oily skin friendly version (Hint Hint L'Oreal).

Have your tried this foundation or any of the other new cushion foundations? What were your thoughts?

    1. It always seems the way with products that get hyped up, I love the concept of this foundation and it did look pretty good on my skin but have tried a lot better foundations specially for my oily skin.

  5. Great review Nicole. My skin is combination so I am dry/normal around my chin and cheeks and only oily in my t-zone and I found this foundation lasted really well for me, and just works so well as a no-fuss everyday base. I also agree with you that the packaging is just so cute!!! x
